About Us

We bought this domain in March 2023 after we fell in love with it the year before. Herman already owned a B&B in the Netherlands and Johannetta worked as an educational advisor in those days. We decided to move to France and run the chambre d'hôtes for a living, though we will both be doing some freelance work on the side.

We met about 15 years ago on the beautiful island of Bonaire where we both worked in education. We have taken on various projects together since then, such as designing and building and renovating our houses on Bonaire and later on back in the Netherlands. So, now we have this new project and we expect this will be our home for the coming years.

In our spare time, we like to travel, for example with our campervan through Europe, and then we like to stay at naturist campsites. We love cooking for family and friends and will now do so for our guests at Moulin de Chez Joyeux. We have also been brewing our own special beers for over a year now. We will offer those beers and good wines to our guests. We love to make people happy with a carefree holiday in a nice place with good food.
